Process (Our plan of action is divided into five distinct steps)
Step One: Introduction and Project Review
A typical project starts with an introductory meeting between the prospective client and the builder, generally at the project location. At Ramstar Builders, our objective is to ask questions, assess the scope of work, understand the client’s priorities, and to offer resource advice based your short and long-term financial goals. This is also the best time to meet the client’s architect or designer.
The four most important objectives to accomplish during the initial meeting is to discuss: - Project Investment Priorities - Project Budget - Project Timeline - Meeting of the Minds
Project Investment Priorities: Each project requires a unique approach. Generally, clients have either short-term (i.e. 6 months to 3 years) or long-term investment strategies in mind for their project. Knowing our client’s investment strategy helps Ramstar Builders advise our clients on how to best prioritize investment decisions.
Project Budget: A budget must be fully developed to reflect the priorities of the overall project and the investment priorities of the project. Too often, budgets are not fully developed, leaving clients with cost over-runs through the project. This is where we excel. While we cannot predict the condition of building behind closed walls or under sealed floors, we can help clients develop an appropriate budget that better anticipates any potential “unknowns” during the project.
Project Timeline: The initial project timeline looks at three key elements: (i) when the client wants the project to start or end; (ii) seasonal weather issues that might impact the project or scope of work; and (iii) Ramstar’s total time estimated based on the initial understanding of the scope of project.
Meeting of the Minds: Probably the most important part of step one is to determine if there is a “meeting of the minds” between the prospective client and Ramstar Builders. Our working relationships with our clients are paramount to our ability to deliver high-quality work. Our present and previous clients are our best source of referrals. The successful completion of a client’s project is important to the long-term sustainability of our business.
Following our introduction and project review meeting, Ramstar Builders provides prospective clients with a complimentary estimate. This estimate is based on our best judgment and interpretation of your project, as well as the best available information about your property and overall project. |
